Business Listing Questionnaire

Part 1 The information in this section will be published on the website.

1. Business Details (Required)

2. Please write a Short Introduction (Required)

For young people visiting the site. Tell them about your company and why it is a good place to start a career. Maximum 200 words, the first 35 will appear on the summary listing with a ‘more details’ button that will lead to the full summary and the rest of the information.

3. What apprenticeships or other opportunities for those starting their careers, are you likely to offer in the next 12 months? (Required)

We understand that this won’t be set in stone – we’re not asking for a commitment – only what your expectations are. We’d like to know the level and title of the apprenticeship. This information is aimed at young people who are considering their options on leaving school or college. Some of them will be thinking about taking up an apprenticeship straight away, but we also want to engage with the ones that are thinking about leaving Salisbury to take up a place at university – we need them to understand that there are good jobs in the Salisbury area that they can return to.

4. Do you have plans to develop your apprenticeships or other training schemes in the future? (Optional)

We’re interested to know if you have plans to broaden your offer, for example, introducing higher or degree apprenticeships. The website is used as a careers education resource with students in years 9 and 10 who won’t be starting work for at least 2 years.

5. What will be the arrangements for training? (Optional)

Will the training normally be on site? If not, will the apprentice have to travel far? Mention any aspects of training that might be of interest – community projects, competitions etc.

6. Is it easy to get to work? (Optional)

We’re aware that this can be a real obstacle for young people starting work. Tell us if your premises are close to public transport links and whether you support other initiatives such as cycle to work, car sharing, lifts to work etc.

7. Do you have a regular recruitment cycle? (Optional)

How many apprentices/graduates do you normally take each year? And when? Young people need to know when to start looking for vacancy adverts.

8. Do you have a profile of an existing apprentice? (Optional)

(if possible, one who went to school locally) that we could use to highlight your apprenticeships in a blog post.

9. Do you have other opportunities for young people starting their careers?(Optional)

Work experience? Graduate Entry schemes?

10. Any other information (Optional)

That would help promote your apprenticeships. It’s worth mentioning any awards you’ve won for training or your involvement in the community.
