Apprenticeships in Salisbury website goes live today!

Schools, employers and business organisations have come together to create a new website that will support young people in making well-informed decisions about their future careers.  It will also help employers to recruit and develop staff with the skills they require for their business enabling them and the local economy to flourish. So far 16 local businesses have given details about their apprenticeship schemes which include a fantastic range of options at every level including degree apprenticeships and in many career paths including engineering, childcare, travel, software engineering and cyber security.

Amanda Sluman,  Careers Lead at the Magna Learning Partnership, says “The ‘Apprenticeships in Salisbury’ website is an incredible resource and will be invaluable to so many local people, particularly young people. 

Although there are many excellent apprenticeship schemes in Salisbury, it can often be difficult to find out what is actually available in each sector, access information and see what vacancies there are at any one time. 

Not only does this website address this but it also provides detailed information about each apprenticeship on offer, the company offering the apprenticeship and possible career progression pathways. 

It would be wonderful if every local business who offers apprenticeships publicised their details on this site and that it also encourages businesses who haven’t ever taken on apprentices to consider doing so. 

Apprenticeships which are available from GCSE level (level 2) right through to Degree and Masters level can be a superb pathway into a wide range of careers and so this website really could be a game changer for both potential apprentices and employers.”
