About Us

We're not your usual Apprenticeship website

Apprenticeships in Salisbury is a community web-site that supports young people in making well-informed decisions about their future careers.  We also help employers to recruit locally, the people they need for entry level jobs - which helps the local economy to flourish.

But we don't hold current vacancies.  We show you which businesses often recruit apprentices,  then it's up to you to check out their recruitment web-sites or get in touch directly. The emphasis is on 'Local'. We want you to know about all the exciting opportunities open to you - here in Salisbury - both for school leavers and for those wanting to return to work in Salisbury after going to university. So whilst our focus is on apprenticeships, we also include details of  work experience opportunities, summer placements and graduate entry schemes.

Maggie Fowler

Maggie Fowler set up and runs the Apprenticeships in Salisbury web-site.  She has had a successful career as an accountant working in sectors from engineering to education which all started with a good employer that offered her day release to take accountancy exams. She has lived in Salisbury for 25 years and in retirement she joined the the Chamber of Commerce as their Apprenticeships Champion. She has set up Apprenticeships in Salisbury to help young people and local businesses reach each other.

Unstuck

Unstuck Design, a Salisbury based design studio, is pleased to be working on a project that will help young people considering their career options and benefit local businesses by showcasing the excellent opportunities they can offer.

Apprenticeships in other Market Towns

This website works well for a market town with a population of up to 100,000. Salisbury doesn't have its own university or a local government centre where an Apprenticeship or Careers Hub might be found in a larger city. But like most market towns it does have well established, effective business groups and the schools come together to discuss and collaborate on activities such as careers education. These networks are the foundation of this website. If you live or work in a similar town and would like help in establishing your own 'Apprenticeships in..' website, get in touch and we will try to help.
