SGS Heating and Electrical
SGS Heating & Electrical offer heating, plumbing and electrical services to domestic and commercial customers across Wiltshire, Hampshire and Dorset.
Every year SGS takes on approximately 2-3 apprentices to cover heating, plumbing and electrical trades. Being an apprentice at SGS means you will get high quality on the job training from a wide range of trades. As a company we carry out a very wide variety of works; boiler servicing, maintenance and installation, general plumbing, bathroom and kitchen installations, general builders work, electrical testing and installation as well as a growing emphasis on renewable energy in the form of air source heat pumps, solar PV and solar thermal. We expect apprentices, no matter which trade they intend on specialising in, to gain a broad knowledge of all aspects of SGS work.

As a strong local employer we understand how difficult it is to find good quality trades people. As a way to combat this we put a strong emphasis on apprentices so that we can build tomorrows workforce today!
Training will primarily take the form of on the job training with a range of our high skilled trades people. However, we do run specific training modules from our head office in areas such as boiler servicing and repair and heating controls installation and fault finding.
We don’t recruit at a particular time of year. You can get in touch with us at any time. As a company we receive approximately 50-60 applications a year for apprenticeships or training. We take on the people who we think have the potential to turn into the best trades people.
Just in case you’re wondering if SGS will be a good fit for you, please note that we won the Apprentice Employer of the Year award in 2017 and have continued that emphasis on developing talent through to today.
