Wiltshire Council
Wiltshire Council delivers more than 350 services to the people of Wiltshire, from public health and social care to planning and street maintenance, schools, and libraries.
We’re a forward-thinking council that’s always ready to embrace new ideas. And we recognise a good idea can come from anyone, at any level. That’s why we encourage our people to be innovative and find new ways to tackle old issues. Our values support this and make us unique; we embrace change, treat everyone fairly and value diversity.
We focus on opportunities and possibilities, rather than limitations, and we promote flexible working. Join us and enjoy the chance to achieve your full potential and enjoy a truly fulfilling career in a beautiful part of the country.
We offer a range of apprenticeships to new applicants; our biggest programme is our Business admin L3 apprenticeship as this is a great entry route into the Council and to learn about the different service areas. We offer the opportunity from here to progress in your job role and we aim to support staff who want to gain degree apprenticeships.
Other apprenticeships we offer include Customer service L3, Civil Engineering L3 & 6, Payroll L3, ICT L3 and Finance L3. We will also have apprenticeship training available in Health & Social care.

More information
We are always working to build our apprenticeship provision and are continually working with service areas to identify new opportunities. We currently offer a degree level Civil Engineering apprenticeship to new applicants to Wiltshire Council, but we are working towards broadening our higher-level offer, this will include Occupational therapy.
We currently work with approximately 20 different training providers and the delivery for training will depend on what the apprenticeship is and what providers are available. The majority of our current apprenticeships are run online and by distance learning, but the higher-level apprentices attend university.
Our Bourne Hill offices are in central Salisbury and is easy to use public transport to get to work. Depending on the job role you are applying for as well, we offer a flexible work approach that includes working from home. You will be provided with all the ICT equipment needed for this.
We have vacancies coming out throughout the year so please keep an eye on our website!
